Discover Peru's Cultural Treasures

Located in the Andes Mountains, Peru is a storied land with a history of Incan civilizations and Spanish conquistadors. From April 10-17, 2008, you can join ND Alumni Travel for an expedition that allows you to uncover the beauty and intrigue of Peru's most stirring archeological sites, colorful highland markets and historic altars.

You'll begin your journey in colonial Lima where you'll visit its historic Plaza Mayor, President's Palace, landmark Cathedral, City Hall, and prestigious Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology and History. From there, you'll travel to Cuzco, the former capital and holy city of the Incan empire before heading to the Ollantaytambo fortress. After visiting the traditional Andean Indian village of Chinchero, the trip continues with a journey through Urubamba Valley, the Sacred Valley of the Incas before concluding at the lost city, Machu Picchu.

An expert guide will accompany you on your journey, helping to give meaning to the places you visit and things you see. Your host will be Father Tom Tallarida.

Through the ND Alumni Travel program, special rates are available from approximately $2,345 per person, plus airfare and taxes (based on double occupancy).
