Alumni from Notre Dame's two College World Series Teams (1957 and 2002) will reunite on campus on Sat., Oct. 13 to participate in the first Jody Schrage Memorial Alumni Game. Jody, wife of current ND Baseball Coach Dave Schrage, died of liver cancer in January.
Members of the '57 and '02 College World Series teams, including Coaches Paul Mainieri and Brian O'Connor from the '02 team, will play with other former ND baseball players on Jake Kline Field at Eck Stadium. The game, which begins at 9 a.m., will last two hours. A "practice" session will take place one hour before game time.
The gates to Eck Stadium will open at 8 a.m., and all are invited to watch both the practice session and the game.
Kickoff for the ND-Boston College football game is at 3:30 p.m. Members of the '57 and '02 College World Series teams will be introduced from the field during the game. Both teams also will be honored at a private dinner at Covelski Baseball Stadium in downtown South Bend following the football game.
