In a new initiative designed to highlight women in leadership positions across the University, the First Year of Studies program is sponsoring a monthly lecture series on campus entitled "Telling HERstory."
The HERstory Series provides speakers the opportunity to share the interesting facets of their lives and how it is they arrived at Notre Dame. The speaking time is short - 20 minutes with the remaining 40 minutes left for Q & A. The topic is simply, her story - intriguing details of her life that she would like to share with the Notre Dame community.
The inaugural speaker for the HERstory Series was Dr. Frances Shavers '90, chief of staff and special assistant to the University's president, who spoke on Sept. 20 to a packed house. The next speaker on the agenda is Carolyn Woo, dean of the Mendoza College of Business, who will tell her story on Oct. 18 from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Ann Firth '81, associate vice president for Student Affairs, is scheduled to speak on Nov. 14 from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
Telling HERstory takes place on the first floor of Coleman-Morse Center Lounge on campus.
