The Alumni Association has kicked off the New Year with two additions to its staff. Karen Lynch Conway ’89, has joined us as director of alumni academic programs, replacing Mirella Riley. Mirella was appointed executive assistant in the Office of the President.
Karen comes to us from Malouf Lynch Jackson & Swinson, PC, a law firm in Dallas, where she was an associate attorney for the last eight years, specializing in corporate, real estate and construction law. Prior to that, she was director of the Lawyering in Process program at Southern Methodist University School of Law, where she collaborated with two law professors to create a legal research, writing and legal practice program for first year law students. She also spent a year as an associate in the General Counsel office at SMU.
Mike Atkins replaces Clint Brown as information technology support engineer. Clint accepted a technical support position for the staff in the University's Main Building. Mike will support the hardware, software and peripherals for the Alumni Association staff, and will provide support for Irish Online.
In his previous position, Mike was a network administrator for Guardian Industries in Ligonier, Ind. He has experience supporting end users, computer systems and servers, as well as conducting training and writing documentation.
Mike’s wife, Bethany Cockburn, is a ND student in the master’s of nonprofit administration program, and is employed by the Psychology Department.
