Costa Rica Trip

Family Trip: Learn Spanish, Volunteer, and Enjoy Beautiful Costa Rica

Next summer, consider taking your family on a trip that allows you to participate in a unique volunteer program, study Spanish, immerse yourself in the culture and beauty of Costa Rica, and enjoy adventure activities suitable for the whole family.  And the cost is affordable!

In summer 2009, you can stay with a host family in Costa Rica while participating in a variety of unique environmental and social volunteer projects. Study Spanish in the beautiful, natural setting of a private tropical reserve at the edge of the rainforest. While you study Spanish, your children will be enrolled in Spanish and environmental education programs specifically designed for them.

Living with a host family is important as it provides the full immersion experience. The host families have been carefully screened to support you as you work to improve your language skills and make new friends.

The volunteer projects are all designed to be learning experiences. At the Asís Wild Animal Rescue Center, for example, you can familiarize yourself with a variety of species that call Project Asís their temporary home. There, you can help feed the animals, build and clean cages and assist in basic veterinary activities.

The cost of this 10-day trip is $1,495 per adult, and $1,295 for children under 10, plus airfare. The host family provides three healthy meals a day, laundry service, private bedroom and shared bathroom.
