Elizabeth (Dolly) Duffy ’84 will join the Alumni Association as associate executive director, replacing Chris Bellairs. She also will serve as assistant vice president for University Relations.
Dolly will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Alumni Association, including the alumni affinity groups, professional, academic, spiritual and service programs, communications, marketing, finance and technology.
Dolly was most recently president of Atchison Products, a Kansas-based supplier of promotional totes, bags, coolers and backpacks. She and her husband, Dan Fangman '84MBA, purchased Atchison Products in 1990 and grew it substantially over the next 17 years. Atchison Products posted sales of approximately $15 million in 2006. In August 2007, the company was acquired by BIC Graphic USA.
Over the next few months, Dolly will be relocating from Kansas to the South Bend area with her husband and their five children. She will be attending Alumni Senate and Reunion this spring, and then will begin working full-time on August 18.
“We are excited to have a person of Dolly’s experience and integrity joining our team. She possesses a strong work ethic and a wide range of skills,” says ND Alumni Association Executive Director Charles F. Lennon Jr. ’61, ’62MA. “We look forward to working with her in facilitating active involvement of alumni, nurturing the lifelong learning and spiritual development of our graduates, and fostering connections among ND alumni.”
ND Alumni Board President Richard Nussbaum ’74, ’77JD, agrees: “Dolly has been active within the Notre Dame alumni community for many years, so she will be a terrific asset to the ND clubs and other alumni groups,” he says. “She has served on the Board of Directors for ND clubs in Washington, D.C., St. Louis and Kansas City, and currently is a member of ND’s Advisory Council for University Libraries.”
