Join the ND family in honoring Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh, C.S.C., during the 2nd annual Theodore Hesburgh Month of Service this May.
The Theodore Hesburgh Month of Service was inaugurated as a one-time event in 2007 to celebrate Father Hesburgh’s 90th birthday. The Alumni Association invited all ND clubs, classes and campus departments to participate in their choice of service projects over the course of the month, and encouraged them to document their projects in pictures and with cards for Father Hesburgh.
The month-long event was a success: More than 15,000 people from 162 ND clubs, departments and alumni groups participated in more than 130 community service projects.
In light of last year’s accomplishments, the Theodore Hesburgh Month of Service has become an annual event for the clubs and classes. This year we hope to keep up the momentum and surpass last year’s incredible effort.
Groups were involved in projects such as painting schools, organizing fundraising drives, serving meals to the homeless, and more. The Alumni Association encourages groups to pursue projects with organizations with which they have long lasting and special relationships.
