Fighting Irish Ride the Rapids
Some people opt to take it easy during the summer, but this July, Young Alumni are gathering in the Blue Ridge Mountain Range of West Virginia for an exciting white-water rafting trip. From July 18-20, you can join fellow Young Alums and ride the rapids of the Lower New River, which flows through a rugged 1,300 ft. canyon.
The trip begins in Charleston, WV, with a happy hour, dinner and an evening on the town. We will stay at a Charleston hotel on Friday night, heading to the New and Gauley Rivers on Saturday. We’ll finish the trip with a BBQ dinner followed by an evening of camping. [Full Story]
Young Alums and Reunion—To Go or Not To Go
It hasn’t been that long since you graduated, so why would you want come back to campus for Reunion 2008? The better question is why wouldn’t you? Reunion gives you the chance to relive your student days and take part in a variety of campus activities. Stay up late talking to your friends; take a bike ride around campus; meet new people; visit the ’Backer; network and find potential job opportunities; grab a late-night snack or beverage at the refreshment tent; participate in the Sunburst Race; golf on campus and participate in community service with fellow classmates.
If that’s not enough, you can register to participate in fun and informative seminars such as Sex, Money and the Vatican; Green: The Verb Sustainability on Campus; How to Sell More Stuff than You Ever Dreamed You Could; and Inside Notre Dame Magazine. Encourage your friends to come back for Reunion 2008. Want to see who has already registered? Click here to see the list.
Dorm Competition Heats Up Reunion
The Classes of 1998 and 2003 are competing to bring home “Hall of the Year” honors during the upcoming Reunion Weekend. The Annual Fund Dorm Challenge measures dorm spirit on two fronts: first, by having the highest attendance rate at the reunion, and second, by having the highest percentage of former residents make a gift to Notre Dame.
Don’t miss out on your chance to participate: the winning dorm earns a University-sponsored tailgate party and the opportunity to purchase a block of tickets for dorm-mates at the ND vs. Pittsburgh football game on November 1. So which dorm will come out on top? Visit the Reunion 2008 Progress Report to see how your dorm is doing. Or make your gift now.
