Lecturer: Prof. Maureen B. McCann Boulton
Prof. Maureen Boulton is a medievalist with particular interests in the areas of religious literature, textual criticism, manuscript studies, and the relations between lyric poetry and medieval romance. She has edited or written several books, and is currently editing a collection of texts on Passion devotion in Anglo-Norman England, and is completing a study of apocryphal lives of Christ in Old and Middle French titled Pious Fictions. In addition to making many research trips to French libraries, she has lived in France for two years as the director of SUNDEF, Notre Dame’s foreign study program in Angers. Prof. Boulton is a professor of French with a B.A. from the College of New Rochelle, 1970; M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, 1972; Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, 1976; and M.Litt. from the University of Oxford, 1980.
