Lecturer: Prof. Thomas R. Swartz
Prof. Tom Swartz, TR to many thousands of former students, arrived in South Bend in 1965 after completing his BA from LaSalle (1960), MA from Ohio University (1962), and PhD from Indiana (1965). He is currently professor emeritus, economics and policy studies and director of Notre Dame's London Summer Programme. During the 40-plus years on the faculty, Swartz served as a fiscal consultant with numerous governmental agencies. He authored, co-authored, and co-edited many books, book chapters, and professional and popular articles. He is most proud of the teaching awards he has received, which include the Madden Teaching Award (First Year of Studies), the Sheedy Teaching Award (College of Arts and Letters), and the Kaneb Teaching Award (University Award).
