Spend three nights in Prague before embarking on a 7-night Danube River cruise on this 12-day tour. A tour of 1,000-year-old Prague will introduce you to Hradcany Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, and Wenceslaus Square. Travel through the Czech countryside to board your ship in historic Nuremberg, Germany, and cruise through the Main-Danube Canal to Regensburg, one of Germany’s best-preserved medieval cities. The world’s largest church organ awaits in Passau, while Melk, Austria, hosts one of Europe’s largest monasteries. As you enter Vienna, you will understand what inspired the creative genius of Mozart, Beethoven, and Strauss. Your tour concludes in Budapest, Hungary, with free time to explore the twin cities of Buda and Pest.

Father Leonard Banas taught classical languages at Notre Dame for almost 40 years, until retirement nine years ago. He served as religious superior of the Holy Cross Community on campus and also as assistant chair of the Department of Modern and Classical Languages for a number of years. Father Banas currently works part-time as an advisor in the Office of Undergraduate Studies in the College of Arts and Letters. He assists regularly on weekends at a number of parishes in the area and also in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Father Banas is a member of the ND Alumni Travel Advisory Committee and has traveled extensively with Notre Dame Alumni groups.
