Fr. Ernest Bartell is emeritus professor of economics at the University of Notre Dame, former executive director of the Helen Kellogg Institute for International Peace Studies at Notre Dame, former director of the Fund for the Improvement of Post Secondary Education, and past president of Stonehill College. Fr. Bartell’s areas of research interest are the economics of education and economic development, particularly in Latin America. Fr. Bartell is an Emeritus Trustee and former member of the Board of Fellows of the University of Notre Dame, as well as a member of the board of trustees of Regis College. He holds a PhD in economics from Princeton University and an MA in economics from the University of Chicago.
