Our journey ends with a unique opportunity to attend the 2010 Passion Play, a tradition dating back to 1633. More than 2,000 participants enact this fascinating rendition of the story of Jesus Christ on the large, open-air stage. Held every 10 years, this incredible performance incorporates magnificent costumes, scenery, and orchestral accompaniment to create a memorable spectacle. Lecturer: Rev. John E. Conley, C.S.C.
Ordained as a priest in Holy Cross in 1979, Father John Conley received both his BA in history (1973) and his master of theology degree (1977) from the University of Notre Dame. He also received a master's in education from  Loyola University of Chicago. Father Conley served as teacher and assistant principal of Notre Dame High School in Niles, Ill, as well as principal of Bourgade Catholic High School in Phoenix, Ariz. Before he became rector of Siegfried Hall in 1997, he was the director of vocations for the Indiana Province of the Congregation of Holy Cross. During this time, he lived in residence at Alumni Hall.
