Domers Doing Good

Featuring... The Notre Dame Club of Lake County, Illinois

Sixty-three volunteers painted five classrooms, an entryway, a stairwell, and two hallways to benefit the Holy Family Immigrant Center in Waukegan, IL. The center helps the immigrant population living in Lake County obtain citizenship and provides education and legal services. Volunteers worked from 9AM - 2PM; breakfast was donated by Panera and the club provided a pizza lunch. Thirty-five club members participated and the rest of the group was made up of local students and youth groups recruited by the club. Check out the lovely photos to see how much brighter the center is after its makeover thanks to the Notre Dame Club of Lake County!

Tips from the club:

• Ask a couple of people to arrive an hour or so early to set up and organize supplies.

• Use separate sign-in tables clearly labeled or numbered for each group participating.

Thank you very much to Lake County for the inaugural Domers Doing Good entry!
