Lecturer: Mike Etzel
Mike Etzel has been on the Notre Dame Marketing faculty since 1980 (moving to emeritus in 2008). He holds a BBA from the University of Portland, an MBA from Kent State University, and a PhD from the University of Colorado. His teaching and research interests include marketing management, marketing in the not-for-profit sector, consumer decision making, and services marketing. Mike has had two Fulbright Fellowships at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, the most recent in 2006, as a Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Social and Economic Sciences. In 1995, and again in 2007, he directed the Mendoza College of Business’ overseas program in Fremantle, Australia, and in 1998, he directed the Notre Dame MBA program in London. In 1992 Mike was awarded the Notre Dame College of Business Faculty Service Award. In 1993, he was a co-recipient with his wife, Chris, of the University of Notre Dame’s Grenville Clark Service Award; and in 1994, he received a University of Notre Dame Special Presidential Award. In 2001, he was the recipient of a Kaneb Undergraduate Teaching Award. He received Notre Dame’s University Faculty Award (selected by past recipients) in 2008. He and his wife have two adult daughters, one a graduate of Notre Dame and the other a graduate of Saint Mary’s College.
