Lecturer: JoAnn DellaNeva
JoAnn DellaNeva has been a member of the Notre Dame faculty since 1982. A two-time winner of an NEH Fellowship for college teachers, her current research focuses on French and Italian poetry of the Renaissance. She enjoys teaching any aspect of Renaissance literature and poetry from all periods. Among her favorite courses are “Life, Love, and Literature in Renaissance Lyons,” where students examine literature within its cultural context, and two courses in comparative literature, “Poets and Lovers from Dante to Shakespeare” and “The Renaissance Woman.” She was the recipient of a Kaneb Teaching Award and made a Fellow of the Kaneb Center in recognition of her contributions to undergraduate education. She has lived in London, Avignon, and Lyons, and traveled in much of Italy.
