New Mexico Balloon Festival

October 2–8, 2010
This tour combines an incredible exposure to the history and culture of Southwest America—particularly as it relates to the rich heritage of Native Americans. Our stay in Albuquerque, with its historic Route 66 and Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, is highlighted by a visit to the International Balloon Festival. Seeing the ascension of more than a hundred brightly colored and variously shaped balloons is a remarkable sight that you will long remember. Then we’ll go to Santa Fe—the oldest seat of government in the United States—where you’ll be fascinated by the Museum of International Folk Art and the sights in and around its charming, four-centuries-old “plaza.” Add to this by seeing the adobe town of Taos, the pink cliffs of Pajarito Plateau, and the Bandelier National Monument. From history to landscapes to soaring balloons, you have all the ingredients of a truly memorable tour.
