ND to Lead New Nanotechnology Research Center
As Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels announced the establishment of a new Midwest Academy for Nanoelectronics and Architectures (MANA), Notre Dame marked an important milestone in its evolution as a pre-eminent research university. Led by Notre Dame, the research consortium will focus on developing the next nanoscale logic device, which is the basic building block of future computers. Click here for complete details.

2008 Commencement Preview
The University’s 163rd Commencement exercises, scheduled for May 18, will present 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students with their Notre Dame degrees and actor Martin Sheen with the Laetare Medal. Cardinal Theodore E. McCarrick, archbishop emeritus of Washington, D.C., will deliver the Commencement address. [Full Story]

Notre Dame has once again earned “with distinction” a spot on the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. The second annual Honor Roll recognized 528 colleges and universities nationwide that support innovative, effective and exemplary community service and service-learning programs. Asian Pacific Alumni to Host Reception at Reunion
The Asian Pacific Alumni (APA) of Notre Dame All-Class Reunion will take place during Reunion 2008 on campus. At the event, which will be held May 29-June 1, the APA will recognize two special groups of Asian Pacific Alumni: those who have served in the U.S. military and senior alumni who graduated prior to 1978.  Those groups of Asian Pacific Alumni are invited to a cocktail reception in their honor on May 30 at 5:00 p.m. A special memento will be given to all senior and military Asian Pacific Alumni in attendance.
